Live Event Rules

Free to enter. Won on what you know.

These are the official rules for Trivialize live events. Entry is always free, and nothing you can buy changes where you finish.

1. Who runs these events

Live events are run and sponsored by Trivialize Limited, Lagos, Nigeria — the developer of the Trivialize app. Any questions, disputes or claims about an event are handled by us, and only by us.

Apple is not a sponsor of, and is not involved in, any Trivialize live event in any manner. The same applies to Google. Neither company runs these events, selects winners, supplies prizes, or bears any responsibility for them.

2. No purchase necessary

Every live event is free to enter. There is no entry fee, no ticket, and no wagering anywhere in Trivialize.

You cannot buy your way into an event, buy a better position, or buy anything that changes a result. Coins bought in the app pay for optional lifelines in ordinary play; they are not accepted as event entry and confer no advantage in an event. A Trivialize Premium subscription removes ads and adds convenience features — it has no bearing on events, prizes, or standings.

3. Who can take part

Some events carry additional entry conditions — for example a minimum activity level. Any such condition is shown on the event screen before you enter.

4. How to enter

Open the app, go to the live event you want to play, and join before it starts. Events run to a published schedule, and the start time is shown on the event screen. Late entry is not possible once an event has begun.

5. How standings are decided

Trivialize is a game of skill. Your position is determined by your answers — how many you get right and how quickly you answer them. There is no element of chance in scoring, no random draw, and no lottery.

Final standings are published on the event's results screen when the event ends. Our records of answers and timings are the sole basis for determining standings.

6. Prizes

Each event has its own prize pool and its own payout ladder — how many places pay, and how much each place receives. Both are shown on the event screen before you enter, together with what the prize is paid in.

There are two kinds of event prize, and the event screen always tells you which one you are playing for:

Prizes of either kind are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for anything other than what the event states. Any tax arising on a cash prize is the winner's responsibility.

7. Fair play

We may disqualify an entry, withhold a prize, or close an account where we find evidence of multiple accounts, automated play, answer sharing, interference with the app or our systems, or any other attempt to gain an unfair advantage.

If an event cannot be completed fairly — for example a technical fault affecting scoring — we may void it and, where a prize pool applies, settle it at our discretion in a way that does not disadvantage honest players.

8. Changes and cancellation

We may reschedule, change or cancel an event. Where an event is cancelled before it starts, nothing is lost: entry was free and no stake was placed.

9. Governing law

These rules are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Nigerian courts.
